Gondwana University conducts courses and examinations as per rules laid by University Grants Commission New Dehli, Maharashtra University act and Direction and other ordinances which are passed in management council, academic council of Gondwana University [Faculty of Science Dierction No. 207 of 2016, examinations leading to the degree of science, Semester pattern with choice based credit system, direction, 2016 (Issued under Section 14(8) of the Maharashtra Universities Act, 1994)]. These regulations recommends safe learning-teaching environment to foster overall development of student.

College Gadchiroli is committed to build a better learning environment by taking into account
both the instructionalist's and the psychologist's perspectives. We believe in creating a classroom
community and culture to foster a safe learning environment.
As an educational institute, we have the main responsibility for creating an appropriate learning
environment, considering learning environment from learners perspectives. We mainly focus on
physical institutional learning (such as classroom teaching, practical) and also use the
technologies (ICT) which will facilitate the online personal learning environment. We also
believe that our students are capable of creating their own, personal, relatively autonomous
learning environment. Therefore, we wish to develop a model learning environment that aims to
provide comprehensive teaching-learning context for the overall development of students.
Teaching- College wishes to elevate the learning, teaching and research activities of low-income
and tribal students by employing traditional as well as technology enabled teaching.
Teaching aids- Advanced learning environments are difficult to implement and currently they
are not cost effective. However, College is investing time and money into computer technology
that replicates what can be done as well with traditional means.
Infrastructure- Well equipped laboratories, LAN-WiFi connectivity, library equipped with
more than 21000 books is available in college campus to provide quality education along with
technically sound and socially relevant research to tribal communities.
Assessments- In choice based credit system (CBCS) emphasis is given on formative assessment
and summative assessment for overall improvement in learning process. Formative Assessments
measure student comprehension in process of learning a skill or acquiring new knowledge.

Summative assessments measure student comprehension at the end of semester.

Gondwana University follows the 80:20 pattern for semester end examination and internal
examination marks respectively. Therefore assessments are integral part of our curriculum.
Formative assessment are carried out by conducting test, MCQs, seminars, assignments, projects
etc.
Learner’s support- College provide learner’s support by taking feedback on teaching methods,
counselling, motivation, co-operative learning and encouraging asking questions on learning
management system.
Learner characteristics- Understanding the learners characteristics are essential for creating a
dynamic learning community for students. College trying to understand the personal
characteristics of students related to age, gender, maturation, language, social economic status,
cultural background, and specific needs of a students such as particular skills and disabilities for
and/or impairments to learning. Based on the understanding of learners characteristics college is
trying to implement the innovative teaching methods to improve the academic environment.

The Students Adaptation Scheme has been introduced by the college from the academic year 2015-16 for extending financial support from College to economically backward Student by waiving fully or partially tuition fees
The main objective of the scheme is to develop a student as a multifaceted personality with academic excellence and commitment to an egalitarian society. Students of rural areas, who are economically backward, intelligent, and meritorious but cannot afford higher education, It inculcates in the student the idea that no work is big or small and develops a work culture with the right aptitude. The students enrolled under the scheme are given the following types of work namely – office work, technical work and field work.

The members of both these councils elect the Secretary/University Representative from amongst themselves as per clause 99A (3) of Maharashtra Public Universities Act, 2016 of their respective council.
Annual health check-up is organized for college students to provide medical aid to the student with keeping the medical education training & its awareness as main objective. Health Checkup is mandatory for each student.
Debates elocution competitions are organized by Language departments on various occasion such as “Marathi Bhasha Diwas”.
Bhavgeet Gayan and Natyageet competitions are organized by Marathi department in each semester.
Each department organizes the Quiz and Presentation competition in each semester.
The function of the cell is to look into the complaints lodged by any student, and judge its merit. The Grievance cell is also empowered to look into matters of harassment. Anyone with a genuine grievance may approach the department members in person, or in consultation with the officer in-charge Students’ Grievance Cell. In case the person is unwilling to appear in self, grievances may be dropped in writing at the letterbox/ suggestion box available in NSS department and Office of College.
