The Department of Botany is one of the leading department in the province of Gondwana University Gadchiroli offering Under Graduate, Post Graduate studies and research facility. The department is dedicated to research and teaching in basic and advanced Botany from cell biology to plant biotechnology. We aim to work in bridging the bioscience with technology. The Department also takes a conscious effort to expand its teaching program bringing together novel developments with traditional areas of Botany through field excursions and projects.  The students are coached and encouraged through remedial teaching and academic guidance. Department laboratories are excellently equipped with basic and modern equipments to bring about all the fundamental and modern biology research. In addition students and researchers have healthy accesses to reference books; journals and e-contents available in the college laboratory. The department accomplishes this by fostering an environment of interdisciplinary collaboration with other departments. On the whole, the department provides a supportive environment in which students and researchers at every stage of their vocation will flourish. Our mission is to strive for an excellent environment for learning and research in Botany/plant sciences and produce graduates and postgraduates equipped with skills necessary to fulfil their role in contemporary society.
